This article by Bruna Rosa and colleagues explores the potential of the Finger-ring test (FRT) as a simple method for screening older adults at increased risk of sarcopenia.
By demonstrating an association between fat-free mass and appendicular bone mass estimated by DXA and the FRT, these results reinforce the usefulness of this simple self-test as an indicator of muscle mass, which can be used in the primary prevention of muscle mass decline and in its recovery.
